Kennedy’s good friend, Reggie Cotton, gave him the nickname "Syk Wit It" a few years ago because he thought his moves were sick, on and off the court.

Joined Mix Tape Tour:
Syk was picked up at the AND 1 Mix Tape Tour game in LA back in 2001. He had tried out at Bel Air Park in LA and was chosen to play in the game at LA Southwest College. After he dazzled the crowd at the game, he was invited to be a part of the squad.
