US schedule of the And1 Mixtape Tour
For the first time, this unique marriage of street basketball and hip-hop music will host two international tours within the same calendar year due to the increased popularity of the Mix Tape property worldwide. Coming off a successful 30-city domestic tour that just wrapped up on August 27th, the AND 1 Mix Tape players will head to Europe next week. The tour will stop in Germany, Spain, Italy, France and Belgrade over four weeks. Then in early November the tour will return to the Asia-Pacific region. The six-year old tour has been overseas before, visiting Europe in September of 2003 and most recently the Asia-Pacific region in November of 2004.
“We are excited to be able to bring the tour back overseas,” said Frederic Houdaille, VP of International for AND 1. “We felt it was necessary to reach both Europe and Asia this year in order to accommodate our ever-increasing fan base in countries across the world.”
The AND 1 Mix Tape players will be taking over the international streetball scene this fall to showcase the gritty, true playground style of basketball found on America’s blacktops. The tour features living legends Main Event, AO, Half Man-Half Amazing, Professor, Syk Wit It and others including new stars Spyda and Pharmacist. The AND 1 Mix Tape players will take on local streetball legends in each city, including talent selected from Open Run tryouts, where local streetballers will have the opportunity to participate and showcase their basketball skills.
