New adidas D Rose 3 Leads The Pack of Fresh New Basketball Kicks

adidas launches the new D Rose 3 basketball shoe with new logo and apparel collection.

HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: Even injured D Rose has some of the coolest kicks on the court.

The adidas D Rose basketball shoe launched this week in Chicago, IL for $160 a pop and will be available worldwide Oct. 4. It features rich style elements the 2011 MVP personally chose working closely with both adidas and the Chicago Bulls. We here at HoopsVibe are definitely fans of these kicks and are hoping to scoop a pair soon.

At the launch Rose stated, “The D Rose 3 signature collection is special to me because I worked side-by-side with adidas on everything from materials to fit to colors to make it the best we’ve done yet,” said Rose. “I love the new logo that calls out the most important things to me: my family, basketball and the city of Chicago.

adidas explains the new D Rose logo as such, “The new D Rose logo features three petals that revolve around the letter “D” and number “1” in the center. The personal meaning behind the logo is twofold. First, each petal is unique and represents Rose’s fast, creative drives to the basket, which he honed with physical play on the courts of Murray Park in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. The logo also pays homage to his family – with mother Brenda in the center of the Rose and his three brothers Reggie, Allan and Dwayne as the petals – who guided him from that neighborhood to NBA superstardom.”

Damn, sounds more intricate than most tats I see on NBA players these days. It’s very cool that D Rose put a lot of thought and meaning into his logo, instead of just mailing it in with a fancy dunk silhouette.

adidas designers reportedly worked closely with Rose to develop a shoe molded specifically for his foot and style of play, which involves extreme changes in direction, acceleration and explosiveness. He’s got the blown ACL to prove it. This personal fit ensures minimal foot movement and maximum efficiency, comfort and control to make one of the most agile and quick players in the league even faster and more elusive.

The D Rose 3 launches at, Foot Locker, Eastbay, Finish Line and other retailers nationwide on October 4 for $160 in away (black/white/red) and home (grey/black/red) colorways and will roll out in seven additional colors through the end of the year.
