Kevin Durant’s new Nike Peanut Butter & Jelly Shoes.

Do you think they're running out of themes for basketball shoes? I do.

HoopsVibe's Very Quick Call: Peanut Butter & Jelly as a Nike themed shoe? Why not. I wonder if you can eat them.

If the world of high stakes basketball shoes hadn't gotten ridiculous enough, now Nike is releasing the new Kevin Durant VI Peanut Butter & Jelly themed basketball shoe. I'm honestly not exactly sure what the angle is here. How shoes inspired by peanut butter & jelly sandwiches translate into better basketball players, I will never know.

Apparently, Kevin Durant grew up eating a lot of pb & j, so when he sat down with the team of creatives over at Nike that was the best idea they could come up with for his new shoe. I guess we should all just be grateful KD didn't grow up eating liver and onions. Those would really be some ugly shoes.

For all those scoring at home, this is the first official pair of food themed Nike shoes according to Yahoo Sports. I'm not sure what Yahoo Sports' credibility is in the arena of food theme shoes, but I'll believe them if you will.

The KD VI Peanut Butter & Jelly is in limited edition (thank god), so if this is the shoe for you get them while they're hot.

Enjoy the pictures and for heavens sake go have some p&j for lunch today.
