Carmelo Blames Lin For Why He’s Called Selfish

Carmelo Anthony blames former Knick Lin for his being dubbed selfish.

Carmelo Blames Lin For Why He’s Called Selfish

Blaming someone else for why you are called selfish is like punching someone in the face to prove you aren’t violent. Carmelo has an excuse for everything. When recently asked about being dubbed a “selfish” player, Melo responded that it was because of Lin that he now has that reputation.

Huh? How on earth does Melo think that his not passing the ball unless triple-teamed for the first few years of his career can be blamed on Lin. Did Lin cause you to be selfish in Denver too? Was it Lin’s fault you failed freshmen math. What else can we blame Lin for?

Take some responsibility Melo. You are a selfish player. You’ve always been a selfish player and it has nothing to do with Lin. Yes, we Linsanity hit New York and everyone saw just how affective the Knicks could be with a guard that looked for the open man and an offense that didn’t revolve around Anthony taking fade-away 3-points, it drew more attention to your selfish style of ball. Don’t blame this on Lin. Blame this on your inability to win.

“Lin came and we started winning games and then we started losing games, and they could only point to one thing, which is me, the leader of the team. They’re not going to point to Amar’e. They’re not going to point to (guard) Iman Shumpert. They’re going to point to me. I accept that. It doesn’t bother me.”

Melo is many many years away from being the type of leader that wins a championship. He can win you a game and maybe one day even a first-round playoff series, but Carmelo Anthony doesn’t have the character, humility, or game to put together a championship run.
