Kevin Love Is Pissed Off

Kevin Love recently made comments about his feelings regarding the future of the Timberwolves.

HoopsVibe Very Quick Call: Where’s the “Love”?

For a small market team that can’t attract free agents, keeping the centerpiece that is Kevin Love happy should be paramount. Instead, Love feels like he’s getting the cold shoulder from management and that the team doesn’t appreciate him. And it’s really bad timing for the squad because they are as talented as they have been in years. If they could just get everyone healthy at the same time, they would have at the very least, a very competitive team. Consdering that they are 9-9 at this point is a solid start with how injuries have ravaged this team; when you have to sigh Josh Howard from the scrap heap of free agents, things are not great.

But that doesn’t matter at this point because Love is upset and feels underappreciated. On Tuesday, he let everyone know about how he feels.

“I don’t know who labels people stars, but even Glen Taylor said: I don’t think Kevin Love is a star, because he hasn’t led us to the playoffs,” Love told Yahoo!. “I mean, it’s not like I had much support out there. That’s a tough pill to swallow.”

“I haven’t been in the playoffs yet,” Love said. “I’m looking at my contract in the eye of two years from now, and if I haven’t been to the playoffs – or it’s been one playoff berth – well, it’s going to be tough to say, ‘Oh well, I’m going to stay here and continue to rebuild.’ “

Love signed a four year, $60 million dollar deal back in January so he isn’t going anywhere for the time being. But in the NBA, where stars can throw their weight around and make trades happen that otherwise wouldn’t, the T-Wolves should probably keep him happy. Plus, for anyone in the teams ownership or front office to act like this franchise has been anything but inept since KG and “Starbury” left town is kidding themselves.

Also, if the team squabbles with its best player publicly how does that make the rest of the team feel? Or, potential free agents?

The Timberwolves can only look bad in this scenario. And so far, they already do.
