Carter placed on injured list
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) – Toronto Raptors All-Star swingman Vince Carter
was placed on the injured list Friday after tests revealed a mild strain of
his left Achilles’ tendon.
Carter sustained the injury during the third quarter of Wednesday’s game
against Detroit while driving the baseline. He fell to the court and walked
to the locker room with assistance from his teammates.
The 27-year-old Carter will continue rehabilitation and daily evaluation under
the supervision of the club’s medical staff.
Carter, who has been bothered by the injury before, was rumored to be
potentially traded in the coming weeks. However, a prolonged injury would hurt
Toronto’s chances of dealing the five-time All-Star.
In 20 contests this season, Carter is averaging 15.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and
3.1 assists per game.
