=== Los Angeles Clippers Team Report – December 20 ===

(Sports Network) – The slumping Los Angeles Clippers lost to the Memphis
Grizzlies, 92-82, on Sunday at the Staples Center.

Corey Maggette paced the Clippers with 22 points. Elton Brand contributed 19
points and 12 rebounds and Bobby Simmons finished with 14 points and seven
boards for Los Angeles, which has dropped five straight.

The Clippers opened the fourth quarter with a 9-4 run, capped by Brand’s
turnaround jumper, to take a 77-72 lead. However, Memphis countered with a
13-2 burst to grab an 85-79 advantage with just over three minutes remaining.
Jason Williams drained a pair of three-pointers and Mike Miller added another
shot from beyond the arc during the decisive spurt.

After Maggette made 1-of-2 free throws, Ryan Humphrey hit a foul shot and Pau
Gasol followed with a slam dunk to make it 88-80 with just 29.6 seconds left.
Memphis was able to hang on for the win.

Brand has scored in double-digits in all 22 of the games he has played in this
season. He is second on the Clippers in scoring (18.9 ppg) and is the team’s
top rebounder (8.6 rpg).

The Clippers are off until Tuesday when they host the lowly New Orleans
Hornets. Last season, the teams split a pair of contests.
