(Sports Network) – The New York Knicks dropped a 114-109 decision to the
Boston Celtics on Wednesday at the FleetCenter.

Nazr Mohammed recorded a double-double with 22 points and 18 boards for the
Knicks, who have dropped two straight to fall back to the .500 mark this
season (13-13).

Jamal Crawford recorded a game-high 25 points, but it wasn’t enough for New
York, which held a 10-point third quarter advantage and went into the fourth
ahead 84-80.

The Celtics opened the final stanza with a 21-5 burst to take control. Walter
McCarty started and later ended the run with a three-pointer, giving Boston a
101-89 advantage with 5:39 left. Marcus Banks also had six points during the

New York later drew within 106-100 thanks to a Tim Thomas three-pointer with
1:58 left. Then a Kurt Thomas putback with a minute remaining made it a four-
point contest, 108-104.

After a Boston timeout, Ricky Davis missed a driving layup with the shot clock
expiring, but Mark Blount tipped home the rebound to extend the lead back to
six points.

Tim Thomas managed to connect on a trey with eight seconds left, but Banks
nailed two free throws with 7.8 remaining to secure the win.

New York will return to action on Sunday versus the expansion Charlotte
Bobcats at Madison Square Garden.
