Indiana Pacers Team Report – December 30

=== Indiana Pacers Team Report – December 30 ===

(Sports Network) – The Indiana Pacers take aim at their third consecutive win
this evening when they wrap up a two-game road trip versus the New Jersey Nets
at Continental Airlines Arena.

However, the Pacers could be without Jermaine O’Neal for tonight’s contest, as
the talented forward could still be suspended. Last week, an arbitrator ruled
O’Neal could play after serving 15 games of the 25-game suspension he received
for fighting with Detroit fans in last month’s well-publicized brawl.

The NBA, though, has challenged the arbitrator’s ruling, and both sides will
meet Thursday in a New York courtroom, where a judge will decide O’Neal’s

O’Neal is expected to be on hand for the hearing.

Last night, O’Neal scored 24 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead Indiana to
a 74-71 win over Charlotte. Jamaal Tinsley added 14 points and seven assists
for the Pacers, whose winning streak comes on the heels of a three-game slide.

Indiana, which has won just two of its last eight games on the road, is 6-7
away from home this season.

Indiana took three of four from the Nets last season and has won four of the
last five meetings. Despite winning their last two in New Jersey, the Pacers
have struggled in the Garden State, where they have dropped seven of 11 and
are just 6-11 in their last 17 visits.
