Vans and Chris Kong

Vans team up with Chris Kong for a little shine.

HoopsVibe Very Quick Call: Looks like what’s hot. Hoopers and Skaters, Ballers and MCs.

This November Vans is joining forces with Chris Kong for a custom pair of kicks on the OTW Alomar.

Kong keeps it ’80s infused with his unique skate and BMX style mixed into Garageworks industries and Made by Monsters labels. The colorway is inspired from that same ’80s feel and the board and bike graphics from that time. Both bold reds and aquas keep the shoe both vintage and modern. The lightning bolt is a throwback to ’80’s biking decals and the faded checkerboard midsole is a nod to hte first checkered silhouettes from Vans.

Kong keeps it functional as well for those that don’t just look good in their kicks, but skate in them too. He uses premium pig suede and ballistic nylon throughout the uppers for upgraded durability, 3M reflective tongue and heel tabs for night riding and lace covers for added protection while cycling. All-in-all a shoe built for looks and use in the OTW Collection from Vans.

Chris Kong / Vans OTW Alomar ships this November to select OTW stockists. VisitVans.com/OTW for more info.
