S-Jax Mixtape Is Highly Selective

Tim Duncan told he doesn’t have the chops to rap with Stephen Jackson, Kevin Durant, and more.

HoopsVibe’s Very Quick Call: Have we ever heard a good basketball rapper? EVER?

Tim Duncan is largely regarded as the best power forward in the history of the NBA. He’s not used to being denied, but his teammate Stephen Jackson did just that when it came to Duncan’s rapping ability. Jackson apparently takes his rap pretty serious. He felt Duncan’s rapping skills weren’t up to par with his and other NBA stars like Kevin Durant that make guest appearances on Jackson’s upcoming album entitled “Jack of all Trades.”

Duncan told Jeff McDonald of Spurs Nation, “I asked him (Jackson) if I could rap a little on his album, and he told me no, straight out. I was very offended. He’s never even heard me rap. He doesn’t know what I could do.”

For the rap fans out there, I assume you don’t want this album. Yet, for the curious at heart, lets give Jackson and his NBA buddies a shot. Jackson released his first single “Lonely at the Top” on iTunes this week which features guest vocals by Kevin Durant.

I’m going on record now that If Duncan releases a response diss track to Jackson I’m buying it.
